We had a lovely day yesterday and actually got to sail for 5 hours and motor sail for an additional 8 hours. Not much activity. Last night on our watches we took turns watching movies, while at the same time keeping a watch on the AIS and radar and doing visual checks. Not one boat appeared all night. I thought I saw one and kept checking and eventually it kept moving higher and turned out to be a star.
We have now been at sea for a week and would much rather be sailing than motoring. We still have 15 gallons of fuel on deck and some in the tank. That will allow us to motor for an additional 40 hours or 200 nm.
We have out run winter. The temperature at 7:30 was 85 degrees and it will get hotter during the day.
